I grew up in the foster care system. No blueprint. No family safety net. Nobody sitting me down and telling me what was possible. What I had was a choice — to build something from nothing, or to let that be the whole story. I chose to build.
That instinct took me to the United States Navy, where I served until I was medically retired. Military service gave me discipline, clarity, and a permanent intolerance for living a life that doesn't actually fit. After the Navy, I had a wife, kids, purpose — and a growing conviction that the traditional American path wasn't the only path.
So we left. My wife Keana, our two kids, our pets, and everything we owned. First stop: Mexico. We didn't read a blog about it — we lived it. Residency paperwork. Housing in a foreign language.
